Class 1 is a space for kids from 5 to 9 years old. It’s an environment where they can learn, create and explore new ideas.

In class 1 you will find 2 rooms.

 In the first room you will find a big working space and tons of material to make anything you can imagine in arts and crafts. We also use this space for lessons like English, Maths, Geography, History amongst others. These lessons are imparted as individual, small groups or medium groups with a max of 8 kids in a group. 

In the second room you will also find a space to work independently and a cosy reading corner, where kids can decide to continue with their projects or play boardgames, lego or have a chill time reading. 

Although a timetable is created for the kids and there is a guiding presence of a teacher in this space, children have the choice to pursue any lessons, activities or projects of their own choosing. The teacher will plan activities to offer for the different lessons as well as support kids’ individual projects when needed.

The lessons offered in Class 1 are: English, Maths, Geography, History and Cultures, Crafts, Gardening, Cooking, Spanish and individual projects. 

Other lessons are offered to class 1 kids, these are in other areas including Woodwork, Science, EAL, ITDT, Art and a choice of music instruments if they are interested like piano, guitar or drums.

Having this space for our youngest children at school is very important as they can experiment with all their interests and let their creativity run as far as they want.
