1. Parents are strongly encouraged to read “Barefoot in November” by Zoë Neill Readhead. It is important that parents understand the schools attitudes and philosophies.
  2. Call or email the office and request information which includes: background questionnaire, application form, fees list, terms and conditions and a school booklet.
  3. Call or email the office to find out the days set aside for Prospective Parents and book your day.
  4. You will be given a guided tour, meet the community members and attend a Summerhill Meeting.
  5. Once you return the necessary forms and have visited the school, Summerhill will then review your application.

Summerhill has an admission age limit. This is 11 years old at present.

So children who would be over 11 at the start of the term would not, normally, be eligible.

Day kids (not boarders) can start from the age of 5.

No catchment area as a private school.

Non-UK Nationals will need to apply for a child student visa to be able to study in the UK at Summerhill; we are an approved education provider registered as a licensed sponsor for child students. For further information on visa, see www.gov.uk/child-study-visa
